Buddy Programme
Perhaps you are considering coming along to a Cork Humanists event but are a bit nervous about going along on your own. Maybe your not really sure about this whole Humanism business and would like to meet up with someone one on one before you go along to an event. If so the Buddy Programme is might be just the thing for you. The Buddy system organises for a regular member of the Cork Humanists to meet up with someone who is interested in checking out what Cork Humanists is about. We do our best to pair someone up who they have something in common with already such as age or gender. A regular question people ask is do you have to be a member to attend events. The Cork Humanists has no set membership per say, we do not take membership fees. All we ask for is a small donation at some of our events which involve some overheads such as venue rental and refreshments. Anyone who is questioning their faith, rejected it, calls themselves an atheist, Humanist or freethinker (etc.) can consider themselves a member of Cork Humanists. Cork Humanist buddies are members who have gone to a good few events, are friendly, easy to talk to and have signed up for the Buddy Programme to help out their fellow human beings.
